Hie shrine

It is a Shinto shrine located on a tree covered hill between the Akasaka and Nagatacho neighbourhoods. The kami (god/spirit) of this shrine is Oyamakui-no-kami. It’s also the start point for one of its major festivals: the Sanno Matsuri.

Nogi shrine

It is a shinto shrine located in Akasaka, in Minato. It was established in November 1923 to honor Maresuke Nogi but unfortunately it was burned down during the Second World War and rebuilt in 1962. There are 6 Nogi shrines across Japan, but this is special that this is where they died.
